Funding Pathways: FAFSA, Bright Futures, and Scholarships

Planning for college includes understanding the financial resources available to help you reach your goals. Our Financial Aid and Scholarships page provides information on completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), applying for Bright Futures, and exploring a variety of local and national scholarship opportunities. We encourage all students to apply early and review available options regularly to make the most of their funding opportunities.

Graduation Information

  • Graduation Rehearsal - May 28, 2026
    • Rehearsal is mandatory for all seniors planning to participate in official commencement activities with Pine Ridge High School
    • Seniors should expect traffic delays when traveling to rehearsal
    • Only the graduating senior will be permitted into rehearsal - all friends, family, and guest must wait outside of the ocean center
    • Seniors must arrive by 9:30 AM for check in
    • Do not wear your cap & gown for rehearsal
  • Graduation Tickets
    • Expected to go on sale May 1, 2026 but is subject to change and will be sold through the student portal only
    • Expected prices are $5 per ticket for each individual that requires their own seat - the graduating senior does NOT need to purchase their own ticket
    • Expected prices are $10 for a parking pass if purchased in advanced or $15 the day of
    • There is no limit to the number of tickets and/or parking passes sold; however, they are non-refundable
  • Graduation Day - May 30, 2026
    • Seniors must arrive to the exhibit hall by 11:15 am for check in
    • Guests, friends, and family members must report to the commencement hall - only graduating seniors are allowed in the exhibit hall
  • Graduation Day Dress Code:
    • Dress Code Option 1: 
      •ALL Black Dress Pants
      •ALL Black Dress Shoes
      •A White or Black Long Sleeve Collared Dress Shirt
      •Minimal School Appropriate Jewlery
      •Black/Charcoal Gray Tie or Bowtie
      •Cap & Gown - DO NOT decorate cap or gown
    • Dress Code Option 2: 
      •Formal Dress - If dress is visible outside of fully zipped gown, it must be black. If not visible, the dress can be any color
      •ALL Black Dress Shoes

October 18, 2025, at 7:00 PM - Homecoming at Pine Ridge High School 

November 11, 2025 - No School, Veterans Day

November 24, 2025 - Thanksgiving Holiday Break Begins

December 1, 2025 - Deadline to Order Cap & Gown packages through Jostens. All seniors planning to walk at graduation must purchase the minimum package of 'Cap & Gown Unit', which includes the cap, gown, medallion, tassel, and diploma cover.

December 19, 2025 - Quarter 2 Grades Due

December 22, 2025 - Final day to submit Teal Standard Applications

December 22, 2025 - Winter Holiday Begins

January 5, 2026 - No School for Students

January 19, 2026 - No School, Martin Luther King's Birthday Holiday

January 31, 2026 - Deadline to submit baby photo to Ms. Gregory at dgregory@volusia.k12.fl.us with Alpha Code and Full Legal Name in subject line

February 16, 2026 - No School, President's Day 

February 27, 2026 - Final day to check spelling for diplomas. Seniors cannot start verifying names until January.

March 12, 2026 - Quarter 3 Grades Due & All Senior Edgenuity Credit Recovery Courses must be complete

March 13, 2026 - No School for Students

March 27, 2026, Periods 3-4 - Class of 2026 Mandatory Graduation Assembly & Senior Superlative Voting

April TBA - Cap & Gown Package Pick Up with Jostens

April 3, 2026 - Final Day for Teal Standard Requirements to be met

April 10, 2026 - Prom at The Brannon Center, NSB

April 18, 2026 - Grad Bash at Universal Studios

May 1, 2026 - Deadline to submit all volunteer hours

May 1, 2026 - Deadline to complete FLVS/VOL courses

May 1, 2026 - Deadline to submit scholarships, recruitments for military, club/program awards for Senior Awards Night

May 28, 2026 at 10:30 AM - Graduation Rehearsal at The Ocean Center, Daytona Beach, FL. Seniors must arrive for check in by 9:30 AM. Graduation Rehearsal is MANDATORY for all seniors walking in graduation.

May 30, 2026 at 12:30 PM - Graduation at The Ocean Center, Daytona Beach, FL. Seniors must arrive fully dressed in cap & gown by 11:15 AM.

Cap & Gown Information

We are excited to resend this important reminder that Cap & Gown orders are officially on sale! All graduation attire must be purchased through our official partner, Jostens. Please note caps & gowns purchased privately or through outside companies will not be accepted at graduation.

✅ What’s Required

  • Jostens offers the Cap & Gown Unit, which includes everything needed for graduation:
    • Cap
    • Gown
    • Tassel
    • Medallion
    • Diploma Cover

Cost:  Approximately $51.64, plus a service fee.

Optional packages include extras like stacked tassels, announcements, and clothing, but only the Cap & Gown Unit is required.

*Follow these directions to order a standard cap & gown, even if you believe you will qualify for The Teal Standard. PRHS will have the color changed if all requirements are met. 

💻 How to Order Online

  • Go to www.jostens.com/graduation
  • Select the “Graduation” tab
  • Choose “Grad Packages” under High School
  • Click “Order Now”
  • Type in Pine Ridge High School, Deltona, FL and select our school
  • Verify Pine Ridge High School is correct
  • Select Graduation – Shop
  • Scroll down and click “Shop All Graduation Products”
  • Locate the Cap & Gown Unit package ($51.64)
  • Enter your student information (legal first and last name)
  • Double-check height, weight, and gender – if between weights, select the higher option for best fit
  • Select checkout (continue as guest or create an account)
  • Complete payment information
  • Screenshot your confirmation number and save your email receipt for records (we may request proof if needed)

🎉 Congratulations! You’ve successfully ordered your Cap & Gown. Orders will be delivered to Pine Ridge High School in late April 2026.

•Meets the FSA/FAST ELA Requirement of a 4 or higher

 

Silver Level

•Earned 4 credits in same foreign language with cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
•Minimum score on nationally recognized foreign language assessment
•Portfolio option at intermediate mid-level or higher

Students must have passed a certification test through HVAC, AG, Digital Design, Blueprint, Culinary, ROTC, Cybersecurity, Manufacturing, Healthcare, and/or Early Childhood

Fine Arts Designation

Students must meet 1 of the following:

•Successfully completed at least 3 year-long courses in dance, music, theatre, or the visual arts with a grade of ‘A’ or higher in each course
•Earned 3 sequential course credits in dance, music, theatre, or the visual arts courses with a grade of ‘A’ or higher in each course

Students must meet 2 of the following:

•Successfully completed a fine arts IB, AP, or dual enrollment/honors course in the subjects listed above
•Participated in district or statewide organization’s juried event as a selected student participant for 2 or more years
•Recorded at least 25 volunteer hours of arts-related community service in his or her community and presents a comprehensive presentation on his or her experiences
•Meets the requirements of a portfolio-based program identifying the student as an exemplary practioner of the fine arts
•Receives district, state, or national recognition for the creation and submission of an original work of art.
