At Pine Ridge High School, our academies offer students hands-on, career-focused pathways that prepare them for life beyond graduation. Whether you're exploring a trade, gaining industry certifications, or preparing for college, our five academies—HVAC, Advanced Manufacturing, Healthcare, Cybersecurity, and Finance—equip students with real-world skills and experience in high-demand fields. FAQ - Frequently asked questions

Join an Academy:

Parents/guardians whose student meets the grade level requirements will be able to apply for Career Academy programs through the Focus Parent Portal. Students must be rising ninth, 10th, or 11th graders to apply for a Career Academy. If your student is accepted into a Career Academy, district transportation is not provided.

Career Academy Timeline

  • Career Academy Applications Due: January 31, 2025.
  • Application status notification: February 12, 2025.
  • Declaration of Intent due: February 25, 2025.

Step 1: Login to your Parent Portal Account

  • The title "Career Academy Application 2025" will appear for the parent under their student's name in the left-side menu on their Parent Portal.

Step 2: Complete the Career Academy Application

Step 3: Communicate Declaration of Intent

  • Parents will be notified of student application status through the Parent Portal by February 12, 2025.
  • The parent Declaration of Intent to accept/decline the offered Academy seat is due by February 25, 2025.
